| February 24, 2010 | Munch Madness to Benefit the Channel 3 Kids Camp
In its fourth year, Munch Madness is a relay contest where teams of two to four eat three mini burgers, a.k.a. bar bites, as fast as they can to benefit the Channel 3 Kids Camp, which is in their 100th year. Two teams go head to head in front of a cheering crowd, competing for the fastest team time. Each Wood n’ Tap restaurant hosts a regional event to determine the top two fastest teams, who will advance to the finals in Hartford on April 5th. Jason Page from the Back Page at ESPN Radio will be the emcee, doing live play by play of the bar bite eating action. Prizes for regional winners include four UConn Football tickets, $100 Wood-n-Tap Tail Gate Gift Card and Coors Light products. The Grand Prize for the winning team includes four VIP tailgate party tickets to the Opening Day Patriots game, including open bar, catered food and partying with the Patriots cheerleaders. A Raffle will be held to raise extra money for the charity for free bar bites for a year.
The cost to enter is $20 per person, which goes to benefit the Kids Camp. The first ten teams to sign up receive an official Munch Madness 2010 t-shirt. To enter, you can sign up online or at any of the restaurants. The contest is captured on video and projected live onto the restaurant’s TV’s in the bar so everyone can catch all the action.
Munch Madness Dates: Start time at all events is 7:30 pm
